Background
Ingwane fm is a community radio station that is based in the former Transkei region, it focuses on culture, tradition and social issues. Its target market is broader it caters for everyone from culture, tribes, and living standards measurements around the region.
Brief
Create a new corporate identity for Ingwane fm. It must demonstrate the culture, values, and heritage of amaXhosa, amaMpondo and amaBhaca people of the Eastern Cape as well as visually communicate that to the target audience.
Insight
How can we make Ingwane fm as community broadcaster be cool and yet represent culture, tradition and the values of its target audience.
Solution
To visually communicate values, tradition of its audience in a cool and professional manner.
Make Ingwane fm brand to be more appealing to the potential target audience.
Make the traditional music and the heritage cool.
Logo
The design comes directly from the literal representation of the brand name – Ingwane – leading to an iconic design of a of play button and forward buttons, the forward and back ward buttons were created from ingwane shape (octopus) and at the same time it shaped the patterns of Xhosa, Pondo traditional outfits. The design is stunning and the color scheme adds a sense of robust, royalty, clean look and feel.
